Digital Land Survey Plan Registry

Search and Verify Your Survey Plan Online

About Survey Search

The Digital Land Survey Plan Registry (OYSG DLSPR) is an initiative of the Oyo State Government, through the Office of the Surveyor General, to preserve survey plan records and make survey information easier to verify.

The service allows members of the public to search for a survey plan using the name written on the plan or the survey plan number. It helps you confirm whether the details of your survey plan have been captured and lodged in the official Office of the Surveyor General’s digital registry.

What Can You Use This Service For?

You can use the public search service to check whether a survey plan has been lodged in the Digital Land Survey Plan Registry.

You may search using:

  • The name written on the survey plan; or
  • The survey plan number written on the survey plan.

Where a matching record is available, the system may display basic information that will help you compare the registry record with the survey plan document in your possession.

Depending on the information approved for search display, the result may include:

  • Name on the survey plan
  • Survey plan number
  • Location of the land
  • Local Government Area
  • Surveyor’s name
  • Surveyor’s registration number
  • Date of the survey
  • Land area
  • Status of the record
  • Other basic survey information

Only information approved for search viewing will be displayed. Sensitive information and internal Government records will remain protected.

How to Search for a Survey Plan

Before you start, please keep the survey plan document in front of you.

Step 1: Choose How You Want to Search

Select either:

  • Search by Name; or
  • Search by Survey Plan Number

Step 2: Enter the Information Exactly as It Appears on the Survey Plan

Type the name or survey plan number exactly as it is written on your survey plan document. Do not change the spelling, arrangement, spacing, letters, numbers, dashes or slashes.

For example, if the survey plan number is written as:

OY/IB/2024/0156

Enter it in the same way. Do not enter:

OYIB20240156

If the name on the survey plan is:

MR. ADEBAYO OLALEKAN

Search with that same name. Do not use a nickname, shortened name or a different arrangement of the names.

For the best result:

  • Check the spelling carefully.
  • Include all letters and numbers in the survey plan number.
  • Include any slash, dash or other symbol shown on the plan.
  • Do not search with a name that is different from the name written on the plan.
  • Do not search with the name of the person currently occupying the land if that name is not on the survey plan.
  • Avoid adding titles or words that are not written on the plan.

Step 3: Click the Search Button

After entering the information, click Search.

The system will check the Digital Land Survey Plan Registry for a matching record.

What If No Record Is Found?

If the system does not find a matching record, it does not automatically mean that the survey plan is fake.

A record may not appear for different reasons, including:

  • The name was not entered exactly as written on the plan.
  • The survey plan number was typed incorrectly.
  • A letter, number, slash or dash was omitted.
  • The record has not yet been digitised.
  • The survey plan is still being reviewed or processed.
  • The survey plan may not yet have been submitted to the Office of the Surveyor General.
  • The available information may require further checking by the appropriate office.

Please check your entry and try again.

If you still cannot find the record, contact the Office of the Surveyor General through the official support channel provided on this website. You may be asked to provide a clear copy of the survey plan or visit the appropriate office for further verification.

Do not submit your original survey plan to an unknown person or unofficial agent.

What a Successful Search Result Means

A successful search means that the system has found a digital record that matches the information you entered.

It may confirm that:

  • A survey plan with the stated number is available in the registry.
  • The name displayed matches the name captured from the survey plan.
  • Information about the survey has been recorded.
  • The record has reached the status shown in the search result.

However, a successful search result does not by itself:

  • Prove that the person presenting the plan is the current owner of the land.
  • Replace a legal title search.
  • Replace physical verification of the land.
  • Replace the professional work of a registered surveyor.
  • Automatically settle a land dispute.
  • Guarantee that there is no government acquisition, restriction, court case or other interest affecting the land.
  • Give permission to enter, occupy, sell or develop the land.

Where there is any doubt, please contact the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development office and seek professional advice.

For Registered Surveyors

The Digital Land Survey Plan Registry supports the proper lodging, preservation and verification of survey plans.

Surveyors should ensure that the information on submitted survey plans is clear, complete and consistent. Important details such as the plan number, client’s name, location, coordinates, beacon information, land area, survey date and surveyor’s registration details should be properly shown.

Clear and accurate survey information makes digitisation, mapping, review and future verification easier.

Search Before You Proceed

Use the official search on this page to confirm that a survey plan has been captured in the Digital Land Survey Plan Registry before you proceed with any related transaction.

Frequently Asked Questions

For the best result, enter the name exactly as it appears on the survey plan. If the plan is in another person’s name, searching with your own name may not bring out the record.

Use only the search options provided on the website. Where the service allows search by name or survey plan number, use the name or plan number exactly as written on the survey plan.

Survey plan numbers may contain letters, numbers, slashes and dashes. These details help the system identify the correct record. Leaving out or changing any part may produce no result or an incorrect result.

You can search for it. However, some old survey plans may still be undergoing digitisation. If no record is found after entering the correct information, contact the Office of the Surveyor General for assistance.

Not necessarily. The search confirms that a corresponding survey plan record was found in the registry. It does not replace a proper title search or prove current ownership.

Internally, authorised officers may use the coordinates and survey information to map the parcel. Any map or location information made available to the public should be treated as survey information and not as permission to enter or take possession of the land.

The internal digital mapping and validation process can help identify possible overlaps with available land parcel records. Any issue discovered will still require proper professional and administrative review.

Do not attempt to alter the document yourself. Contact the Office of the Surveyor General through the official support channel. Provide the required details and a clear copy of the survey plan for further checking.

Do not make further payment or conclude the transaction based only on the document. Contact the Office of the Surveyor General and seek assistance from a registered surveyor and a qualified legal practitioner.

Any applicable fee will be clearly displayed on the official website before payment. Make payments only through the approved Oyo State Government payment channel. Do not pay cash to an unknown person or unofficial agent.
